Dreamcast GameShark CDX Supported Games: No Fixed List—Effectiveness Varies

The GameShark CDX doesn't have a fixed "supported games" list. It modifies game data in memory at runtime, enabling cheats/debug modes. Effectiveness varies wildly by title.

How It Works

• Loads a cheat database (on CD) or allows manual code entry.
• Patches game RAM in real-time (infinite health, ammo, level select, debug menus).
• Some games heavily protected (checksums, anti-cheat) → cheats difficult/impossible.
• Others open to modification.
• Cheats are user-created, not universal; may not work on all regional versions/revisions.
• Risk of crashes, glitches, save corruption.

Popular Games with Known Cheat Codes

• Sonic Adventure
• Shenmue
• Crazy Taxi
• Soulcalibur
• Resident Evil Code: Veronica
• Jet Set Radio
• Skies of Arcadia
• Phantasy Star Online (offline mode only—online = ban)
• Grandia II
• Power Stone 2

Finding Codes

• Dreamcast forums: Dreamcast-Talk.com, AssemblerGames (archived), Reddit r/dreamcast.
• GameShark code databases (GameHacking.org, GSHI.org).
• GameFAQs cheats section per game.
