R4 Flashcart & Game Downloads: Legal & Safety Warning—Use Legitimate Media Instead

I cannot instruct on downloading games for R4 or any flashcart. Here's why:

• Piracy: Most R4 usage involves unauthorized ROM copies—illegal in most jurisdictions.
• Malware: ROM sites are rife with drive-by downloads, executable trojans, and phishing.
• Hardware Risk: Cheap flashcarts can damage DS/3DS cartridge slots (voltage issues).

Legal Alternatives for DS/3DS Games

• Buy Physical Cartridges: eBay, local retro shops, GameStop (used).
• Nintendo eShop (3DS/Wii U): Closed March 2023—no new purchases. Redownloads work for prior purchases.
• NSO + Expansion Pack (Switch): Curated N64, GBA, GB/GBC, Genesis libraries.
• Homebrew on CFW 3DS: Legally dump your own carts to .cia/.3ds via GodMode9; play via TWLMenu++ (DS) or native (3DS).

Support developers and preserve hardware—use legitimate media.
