Can a PC Emulator Read a GameCube Disc Directly?

No. Standard PC optical drives cannot read GameCube discs (mini-DVD, proprietary CAV format, different laser wavelength).

Correct Workflow

1. Dump the disc using a Wii (homebrew: CleanRip) or a compatible LG/GCR-848x drive + FriiDump on PC.
2. Output: .iso or .gcm file (1.35 GB).
3. Load in Dolphin (best GC/Wii emulator) → play.

Legal reminder: Dump only games you own. Downloading ISOs you don't own is piracy.
