Sources for Classic Windows 98-Era Games

• GOG.com: DRM-free classics, often Windows-compatible.
• Steam: Many retro titles re-released.
• Internet Archive: Software library with disk images.
• Abandonware sites: (Caution: malware risk; verify reputation).
• eBay: Physical CD-ROMs of era-specific compilations.

Running on Modern Systems

• Virtual Machines: VirtualBox/VMware with Windows 98 install.
• Compatibility modes: Windows 10/11 often run 16/32-bit apps directly.
• Source ports/remakes: Community projects modernizing classics.

Legal & Safety Notes

• Respect copyright — abandonware status ≠ legal freedom.
• Scan downloads; use VMs for isolation.
• Original Windows 98 games likely won't be found as separate downloads.
