The Sims 3 doesn't ship with a dedicated "Actor" career track, but the game's open-ended systems let you craft a convincing show-business journey through traits, skills, social networking, and a little imagination.
Start with the Show Business lifetime wish (from the Ambitions expansion) which sets the "Movie Star" goal. Pick traits that scream leading lady or leading man:
Acting isn't a single skill, so build a portfolio:
With Late Night or Showtime, the Celebrity system tracks your star power. Perform well at venues, nail auditions, and avoid scandals (unless you want tabloid infamy). Higher star ratings unlock exclusive clubs, better roles, and fan mail.
Use Build/Buy mode to construct a soundstage: lighting rigs, green screens, dressing rooms, prop tables. Stage scenes, "film" them with the in-game camera, and share stories via the Sims 3 Exchange or your own screenshots.
Write call sheets, create call times, design costumes, and narrate your Sim's rise from extra to A-lister. The game simulates the logistics; you supply the drama.
No expansion pack required—just creativity. Break a leg!
