Will There Be Another Scribblenauts Game? (Status 2024)

No official announcement as of 2024. Last release: Scribblenauts Showdown (2018, party game). Main series last: Scribblenauts Unmasked (2013).

Why It's Uncertain

• 5th Cell (developer) **laid off most staff in 2016**, closed 2020.
• IP owned by Warner Bros. (via WB Games) – no active development public.
• Mobile spin-offs (Scribblenauts Remix) delisted.

Why Hope Remains

• Strong cult following; unique "write anything" mechanic hard to replicate.
• WB reviving dormant IPs (MultiVersus, Hogwarts Legacy).
• Mobile/Cloud perfect fit for text-input creativity.

Best Current Way to Play

• Scribblenauts Unlimited (Steam/Switch/Wii U/3DS) – Best sandbox, Steam Workshop mods.
• Scribblenauts Unmasked (Steam/Switch/3DS/Wii U) – DC Comics objects.
