Modern Warfare 2 (2022) does not have Prestige levels. The traditional Prestige system (1–10, reset rank, unlock icons) was replaced by a Season Level / Battle Pass system.
How Progression Works in MW2 (2022)
- Military Ranks 1–55: Earn XP → unlock weapons, attachments, equipment, perks, scorestreaks.
- Season Levels 1–100+: After rank 55, earn Season XP → progress Battle Pass (free + premium tiers). Unlock cosmetics, weapon blueprints, COD points, operators.
- Seasonal reset: Each new season (≈8–10 weeks), Season Level resets to 1. Military Rank (55) and unlocks stay unlocked.
- Prestige Master / Legacy Prestige: Not in this game. Call of Duty: Vanguard and MW2 (2009) had Prestige; MW2 (2022) does not.
Best Game Modes for Fast XP (Leveling)
Since all modes grant XP, play what you enjoy. Efficient modes:
- Shipment / Shoot House 24/7 playlists: Small maps, constant action, high kills/minute.
- Domination / Hardpoint: Objective XP bonuses + kills.
- Ground War / Invasion: Large maps, many players, vehicle XP, objective chains.
- DMZ (extraction mode): Mission XP, contraband extraction bonuses.
- Double XP events: Activate Double XP tokens during events (check in-game store/events tab).
If You Mean Modern Warfare 2 (2009)
The original MW2 had 10 Prestiges. "10th Prestige lobbies" were hacked/modded lobbies that illegally granted max prestige. They were never legitimate. Using them risked console ban, stat wipe, and account suspension. Legitimate path: play public matches, complete challenges, prestige naturally 10 times.
Bottom line: In MW2 (2022), just play. No prestige grind, no lobbies needed. Focus on Battle Pass, weapon camos (Gold, Platinum, Polyatomic, Orion), and operator skins.
