Glitches in "The World's Hardest Game"? They're Exploits, Not Bugs

What players call “glitches” are usually exploits—clever uses of physics/level design within the game’s rules, not programming errors.

Common Exploits

  • Pixel-perfect jumps: Squeezing through gaps a few pixels wide.
  • Wall-jumping / corner clipping: Using collision quirks to skip sections.
  • Frame-perfect inputs: Exploiting the engine’s discrete timestep.

The developer intentionally made the game brutally precise. “Exploits” are part of the meta for speedrunners, but they trivialize the intended challenge.

For the true experience, play clean—the satisfaction of beating it fairly is the whole point.
