Heavy Events (Strength/Power)

• Caber Toss: Flip tapered log end-over-end — scored on angle, not just distance
• Stone Put: Throw heavy stone (16–26 lb) for distance — like shot put
• Hammer Throw: Swing 16/22 lb hammer on whip handle — distance
• Weight for Distance: Throw 28/56 lb weight (chain/handle) — distance
• Weight for Height: Toss 56 lb weight over rising bar — high jump style

Light Events (Speed/Endurance)

• Tug-of-War: 8-person teams, pull across line
• Sheaf Toss: Pitchfork hay bale (10–20 lb) over bar
• Running: Sprints, middle distance, hill races

Cultural Competitions

• Pipe Bands: Graded competitions (Grade 1–4), medley + MSR sets
• Highland Dancing: Solo (Flings, Swords, Seann Triubhas) + choreography
• Highland Dress: Kilt, sporran, hose, sgian-dubh — judged on correctness

Events vary by gathering (local vs. World Championships). All celebrate Scottish heritage.
