StarCraft: Brood War Console Commands (Not Cheats) for Testing

No official cheat codes exist for StarCraft: Brood War. However, console commands (developer/testing tools) can modify gameplay in single-player or custom games.

Accessing the Console

1. Start a game (single-player or custom multiplayer).
2. Press Enter to open chat/console.
3. Type commands prefixed with no prefix (just the command).

Common Console Commands

• showmap — Display full map in separate window.
• map [Map Name] — Load specific map (e.g., map "Lost Temple").
• give [Unit/Building] — Spawn unit/building (e.g., give marine, give hatchery).
• set [variable] [value] — Change game setting (e.g., set speed 2 for faster game speed).
• donothing — Freeze game (testing).
• victory / defeat — Force win/loss instantly.
• restart / quit — Restart map or exit to menu.
• ally [player] [on/off] — Toggle alliance.
• vision [player] [on/off] — Toggle shared vision.

Warnings

• Commands vary by version (1.16.1, Remastered, etc.).
• Using in online multiplayer = cheating → permanent ban.
