LEGO Harry Potter Character Unlocks: No Cheat Codes, Only Gameplay

There are zero cheat codes to unlock characters in LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1–4 or Years 5–7. Every character is earned through in-game progression.

How to Unlock Everyone

• Story Mode Completion: Beat levels to unlock main trio variants (Harry, Ron, Hermione) plus level-specific characters (Lockhart, Lupin, Slughorn, etc.).
• Free Play + Character Tokens: Replay levels in Free Play. Find the floating character token, collect it, then buy the character in Diagon Alley / Leaky Cauldron shop using studs.
• Gold Brick Milestones: Collect Gold Bricks (True Wizard, House Crests, Students in Peril, Bonus Levels). Milestones unlock major characters:
  • 25 GB → Voldemort (Y1-4)
  • 50 GB → Bellatrix (Y5-7)
  • 75 GB → Snape (Y1-4)
  • 100+ GB → Various others
• Hub Exploration: Hogwarts, Diagon Alley, and Knockturn Alley hide tokens requiring specific spells (Reducto, Diffindo, Parseltongue, Dark Magic).
• Bonus Levels: Complete Gringotts and Hogwarts bonus stages.
• Red Bricks (Extras): Unlock "Character Studs," "Fast Magic," etc.—not characters, but huge quality-of-life helps.

Best Resource for Token Locations

Search IGN, GameFAQs, or TrueAchievements for "All Character Tokens Locations" guides specific to your game (Years 1-4 or 5-7). They list level, area, and required spell/character.

Pro Tip

Buy the Character Studs Red Brick early (in the Gringotts vault). Every enemy kill drops studs → fast currency for token purchases.
