There are no cheat codes for Tamagotchi V5.5 (Familitchi / Royal Familitchi). It's a dedicated LCD device with no hidden menus, button combos, or debug modes accessible to users.
Why Cheats Don't Exist
Hardware Limitations: 4-bit/8-bit MCU (Toshiba/Sharp) with mask ROM. No firmware updates, no external interface.
Design Philosophy: Virtual pet = responsibility simulation. Cheats defeat the core purpose.
IR Port Only: Used exclusively for Tamagotchi-to-Tamagotchi connections (marriage, gifts, games). No PC link exists.
Legitimate "Pro" Strategies
Discipline Timing: Scold only when the "attention" icon appears with a beep (not when hungry/sick). Fills the training bar → better teen/adult evolution.
Weight Management: Keep at base weight + 0–5g. Snacks = weight + happiness. Games = weight - happiness. Balance both.
Generation Strategy: Marry specific partners for target characters (chart on Tamagotchi Wiki).
Pause Trick (V5.5):Hold A + C on main screen → "PAUSE" appears. Stops aging/needs. Use sparingly — pauses growth entirely.
Fast Forward (Debug Only): Not on retail units. Dev units had test mode (battery + button combo at factory).
