How to Activate Cheats in Pokémon SoulSilver (DS) - Methods & Warnings

No in-game cheat menu. Cheats require external hardware/software:

Methods

1. Action Replay DS/DSi/3DS (Hardware):
   1. Update firmware via Action Replay Code Manager (PC).
   2. Add SoulSilver (US/EU/JP) code list.
   3. Enable **Master Code (M)** first.
   4. Enable desired codes.
   5. Start game via AR.
2. Flashcart (R4, Ace3DS+, R4i Gold 3DS Plus, etc.):
   1. Install YSMenu or TWiLight Menu++ kernel.
   2. Enable cheats in settings (`.dat` or `.xml` database).
   3. Select codes → Launch game.
3. Emulator (DeSmuME, melonDS, DraStic):
   1. Tools → Cheats → Add (Action Replay RAW format).
   2. Enable.
4. CFW (DSi/3DS) + TWiLight Menu++:
   1. Place `.xml` cheat file in `sd:/_nds/TWiLightMenu/cheats/`.
   2. Enable in TWiLight settings → Per-game cheat menu.

Warning

• **Backup save** (`.sav`) before cheating.
• Disable codes before saving in-game.
• Wild Modifier / Encounter codes = high corruption risk.
• Online (Wiimmfi) = ban if detected.

Best: **PKHeX** on PC — edit save directly (money, Pokémon, items, flags) cleanly.
