Changing Sim Age in The Sims Life Stories (No Cheat Console)

The Sims Life Stories (2007) has no cheat console (Ctrl+Shift+C does nothing). It is a console-style linear story mode on PC.

Why No Cheats

  • Built on a stripped-down Sims 2 engine for laptop/integrated graphics.
  • Story mode locks progression; Freeplay mode exists but still no console.
  • EA removed boolProp testingCheatsEnabled for this SKU.

Workarounds (Increasing Risk)

  1. Story Progression (Safe): Play the story. Sims age at scripted points. Freeplay mode ages naturally (7 days per stage).
  2. SimPE (Advanced, PC Only):
    • Backup Documents\EA Games\The Sims Life Stories\Neighborhoods\N001\.
    • Open N001_Neighborhood.package in SimPE → Tools → Sim Surgery / Sim Browser → Find Sim → Age dropdown → Set to Teen/Adult/Elder → Commit → Save.
    • Risk: Corrupts neighborhood. Breaks story scripts. Test on copy.
  3. InSimenator / SimBlender (Mod Objects): Not made for Life Stories. May crash.

Recommendation

Play The Sims 2 (UC/Super Collection) instead. Full cheat console (testingcheatsenabled true → agesimscheat on → click Sim → Set Age), open world, all EPs. Life Stories is a curiosity, not a sandbox.
