Nintendo DSi USB Cable: Charging & Data Transfer Only (No TV Out)

The Nintendo DSi USB cable (model WAP-002) serves two functions only:

1. Charging

• Connect to USB power source: PC port, USB wall adapter (5V/500mA+), power bank.
• Charges internal battery (840 mAh) — ~2.5 hrs full.
• Not a wall adapter itself — cable only. DSi does not include AC adapter in box (sold separately: WAP-001).

2. Data Transfer (PC ↔ DSi)

• System Transfer: Move DSiWare, saves, photos, audio to another DSi/3DS (requires both online).
• Photo/Video Export: Copy Camera Album to PC via "Nintendo DSi Camera" app → "Send to PC" (requires Nintendo DSi Browser + PC on same network).
• SD Card Alternative: Faster — remove SD, use reader. DSi supports up to 32 GB SDHC.

What It CANNOT Do

• TV/Video Out: No analog/digital video signal on USB pins. DSi has no TV out (unlike PSP/3DS).
• USB Host: Cannot read flash drives, keyboards, controllers.
• Audio Out: Headphone jack only.

Cable Replacement

• Standard USB-A to Mini-B (5-pin) — any quality cable works.
• Length: 1 m (OEM) — longer OK for charging, data may degrade >2 m.
