Was There Ever a Pikmin Game on Nintendo DS? No. Here's the History.

No. There has never been a Pikmin game released for the Nintendo DS family (DS, DS Lite, DSi, DSi XL).

Series Platform History

• GameCube: Pikmin (2001), Pikmin 2 (2004)
• Wii: New Play Control! Pikmin / Pikmin 2 (Wii ports), Pikmin 3 (originally Wii, moved to Wii U)
• Wii U: Pikmin 3 (2013)
• 3DS: Pikmin Short Movies (Video app, 2014), Hey! Pikmin (2017 — This is the only handheld entry, but on 3DS, not DS)
• Switch: Pikmin 3 Deluxe (2020), Pikmin 4 (2023)

The DS hardware lacked the processing power for the series' real-time AI swarm mechanics. Hey! Pikmin on 3DS was a side-scrolling spin-off designed specifically for the lower-spec dual-screen hardware.
