How to Register Friends in Pokemon Pearl

"Pokemon Pearl" for the Nintendo DS provides you with a lengthy single-player adventure, where you become a trainer, collect a team of Pokemon and gather Gym Badges from around the region. If you've gotten tired of playing alone, though, you're able to register your friends and play online with them. You must register your friend's special code on the in-game Pal Pad. Once this is done, you and your friend can connect to one another at any time.

Instructions

  Ask your friend for her Friend Code. If she does not know it, instruct her to press "X" while playing "Pokemon Pearl." Highlight the bag, and then press "A."

  Tap the "Key" icon, and then highlight the "Pal Pad" item. Press "A," tap "Use" and press "A" again. Highlight the player name, and press "A." The Friend Code is shown.

  Obtain the Pal Pad from the Oreburgh City Wi-Fi Club, if you have not yet done so. The Club is located in the basement of the Oreburgh City Pokemon Center. Speak to the person at the desk to receive it.

  Press "X," and then select the bag item. Press "A," and highlight and select the key icon.

  Highlight your Pal Pad. Press "A." Choose the "Use" option, and then press "A." Highlight the "Register Friend Code" field, and press "A" again.

  Use the on-screen keyboard to enter your friend's name, and then tap "OK." Use the keyboard to enter her Friend Code. Tap "OK."

  Tap "Yes," and then press "A." Repeat this process to register more friends.
