How to Reset Nintendogs – No Secret Button Combo Exists

There is no hidden button combination to factory reset Nintendogs. The game uses standard in-menu options for restarts.

Starting Fresh

1. From the main menu, select "Go for a Walk" (or equivalent main hub).
2. Tap the "Settings" wrench icon (top right on touch screen).
3. Choose "Delete Save Data" or "Start New Game".
4. Confirm. This permanently erases all dogs, items, money, and progress.

Alternatives to Full Reset

• Adopt a New Dog: Visit the Kennel and select "Adopt" to add a second/third dog without losing your current pet.
• Donate a Dog: If you have 3 dogs (max), you can donate one at the Kennel to make space.
• Multiple Save Slots? Nintendogs only supports one save file per cartridge. For separate profiles, you need a second game card.

Warning: Deleting save data is irreversible. No cheat code or button combo (like L+R+Start+Select) works on the original DS cartridge.
