Do You Need an SD Card for Nintendo DSi Internet? No—Built-in Wi-Fi Handles It

No. The Nintendo DSi connects to the internet via its built-in Wi-Fi (802.11b/g). An SD card is only used for:

  • Saving photos (DSi Camera)
  • DSiWare downloads (games/apps)
  • Music (AAC) for DSi Sound
  • Game save backups (some titles)

Internet Setup (No SD Card Required)

System Settings → Internet → Connection Settings → Search for Access Point → enter WEP/WPA key. That's it.

The DSi's internal flash memory handles system data and browser cache. SD storage is purely for user content expansion.
