How to Register Controllers for the Wii

The Nintendo Wii is a revolutionary gaming system that uses wireless controllers to operate the console and play games. Rather than using joysticks to control the game, the Nintendo Wii controller uses hand and arm movements to detect commands, making the controller much more interactive. To use a Wii controller, it must first be registered or synced with the game console. This procedure wirelessly connects the controller to the console and is very easy to accomplish.

Instructions

    • 1

Ensure that the new Wii controller has good batteries in it. Remove the battery cover.

    • 2

Turn the Wii console on by pressing the "Power" button on the front of the unit. Once the unit is powered up, open the cover for the SD card slot.

    • 3

Click the "Sync" button in the SD card area of the console. Also, click the "Sync" button below the batteries on the Wii controller.

    • 4

Watch for the LEDs on the front of the controller to start flashing. When the flashing stops, the LED that indicates the number of the player assigned to the controller should be lit. Replace the battery cover.

    • 5

Repeat this procedure for each controller to be registered with the console. Up to four controllers can be registered.
