GameShark Codes for Game Boy Color: Safe Sites & Best Practices

I cannot recommend specific "cheat code websites." Most retro cheat sites are abandoned, hijacked, or aggressive ad farms serving malware. Distributing curated code databases can also violate Datel (GameShark) IP.

Safer, Community-Curated Alternatives

• GameHacking.org: The largest, most accurate database. Raw codes (Raw / AR / GS / CB). Community verified. No executables.
• GBATemp.net → Cheats Section: Active forum. .cht files for emulators (RetroArch, mGBA, VBA-M).
• RetroArch Built-in Cheats: Main Menu → Quick Menu → Cheats → Load Core Database / Download (Updates from libretro/cheats repo).

Best Practice for Using Codes

1. Use RetroArch (mGBA Core) + Cheat Menu (Download Database).
2. Enable One Code at a Time.
3. Save States Before Activating.
4. Prefer Raw / Assembly Codes over "Master Code" Dependent Ones.
