How Many Video Games Have Been Sold Worldwide? (The Real Answer)

There's no exact global sales figure for all video/computer games ever sold. Here's why:

• No centralized tracking: No single organization monitors every sale across all platforms/regions
• Diverse channels: Physical retail, digital stores, subscriptions, bundles
• Data gaps: Many companies don't release sales figures, especially for older titles
• Digital complexity: Sales, bundles, and promotions make digital tracking imprecise

What We Know

• Billions sold: Safe assumption given gaming's massive popularity
• Huge revenue: Global market generates hundreds of billions annually
