Selling Game Guides: There's No "Stop" That Buys Them

First, a clarification: there is no company called "Stop" that purchases strategy guides. If you meant GameStop, they generally do not accept strategy guides for trade-in anymore—they phased out guide buybacks years ago.

Where to Actually Sell or Offload Guides

• eBay / Amazon Marketplace. Individual guides for popular games (Elden Ring, Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, vintage RPG guides) can sell for $10–$40+. Lot them by franchise for bulk buyers.
• Local game stores. Some independent shops buy guides, especially for current titles or collectible hardcovers.
• Donate. Libraries, community centers, and after-school programs often welcome gaming guides.
• Give away. Facebook "Buy Nothing" groups, Craigslist free section, or gamer friends.
• Recycle. If they're damaged or for obsolete games (e.g., Madden 2007), paper recycling is the end of the line.

What Determines Value

Game popularity, guide condition (creased spine? missing poster?), and whether a digital version exists (official PDFs kill physical guide demand). First-print hardcovers with bonus content (maps, art books) hold the most value.
