Using the Game Boy Advance Link Cable with GameCube: Setup and Compatible Games

The Nintendo GameCube – Game Boy Advance Link Cable (DOL-011) connects GBA to GameCube for cross-play features.

Setup

1. Plug wide end into GameCube Controller Port 2, 3, or 4 (Port 1 for main controller).
2. Plug small end into GBA/SP Link Port (top).
3. Boot compatible GameCube game → Select "GBA Link" / "Connect GBA" in menu.
4. GBA shows "Nintendo" logo → Game transfers data / boots GBA side.

Notable Compatible Games

• Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: GBA = personal screen (map, inventory, select).
• Pac-Man VS.: 1 Player (GC) vs 3 Players (GBA) as ghosts.
• The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures: 4 GBAs for 4-player co-op.
• Pokémon Colosseum / XD: Trade/battle with GBA Pokémon games (Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald/FR/LG).
• Sonic Adventure 2: Battle: Chao Garden on GBA (Tiny Chao Garden).
• Animal Crossing: Unlock island / patterns via GBA.
