Gamesharing Online Passes — Illegal & Blocked

Sharing online passes is prohibited and technically prevented.

Why It's Not Allowed

  • EULA violation: Passes are single-account, non-transferable licenses
  • Revenue protection: Publishers (EA, Ubisoft, Sony, WB) monetize used-game buyers
  • Technical enforcement: Passes bind to account + console ID — sharing triggers revocation

Historical Context

Online Pass era (2010–2014): EA, THQ, Sony, Ubisoft included codes in new copies. Used buyers paid $10–15 for access. Abandoned industry-wide due to backlash—replaced by always-online designs, battle passes, live service.

Modern Equivalents

  • Battle Passes: Account-bound, non-shareable
  • Season Passes / DLC: Account-bound
  • Game Sharing (Home Xbox): Shares full games + DLC — not subscriptions/passes

Legal Alternatives

  • Buy the game new (pass included)
  • Wait for GOTY / Complete Edition (all DLC bundled)
  • Game Pass / EA Play / Ubisoft+ — Subscription access
  • Family sharing (Steam / Xbox Home Console) — For full games, not passes

Online passes are dead. Don't chase workarounds for a defunct system.
