How to Register a Sims 2 Game

"The Sims 2" puts the control of people into your hands. You can create a family household, bachelor pad or filthy shack and have your Sims live inside. You cannot access all of the content the game has to offer without first registering your game. When you register your copy of "The Sims 2," you can download game content and exchange game items with other "The Sims 2" players. As long as you have a "The Sims 2" serial code, you can register the game.

  Click the Windows "Start" menu and open "Computer." Double-click the icon for your hard drive disk; typically, this is "C:." Open the "Program Files" folder. Double-click the "EA Games," "The Sims 2" and "Support" folders. Double-click "EReg.exe."

  Elect to create an EA user account or log in to an already existing account. You do not need to create a new EA user account if you already have one. Enter basic personal details if you chose to create a new account, such as your name, email address, mailing address and birth date.

  Enter your "The Sims 2" serial code in the provided text box after you either create an EA user account or sign into one. The serial code is located on the back of the game manual. A message will appear and confirm your serial code if it is correct; your game is now registered. You can sign into the official "The Sims 2" website with your EA user account to download game content.
