Does PS4 or Xbox One Support exFAT File System?

Neither PS4 nor Xbox One officially supports exFAT.

Why

• Licensing: exFAT is Microsoft proprietary; licensing fees may deter Sony/Microsoft.
• Alternative: Both use FAT32 for external storage (free, widely supported).
• Performance: exFAT's large-file advantage isn't critical for console needs.

Workarounds (Not Officially Supported)

• Format drive to FAT32 (4GB file size limit).
• Some report NTFS working unofficially, but may cause issues.

Stick to FAT32 for compatibility.
