Two Players Online on Same PS3 in Call of Duty: World at War? Not Possible

Not possible. Call of Duty: World at War on PS3 does not support split-screen online multiplayer.

Why

• One PSN account per console session: Only the signed-in user can join online lobbies
• No guest sign-in for online: Unlike Halo 3 (Xbox 360), CoD on PS3 never implemented split-screen + online
• Engine limitation: Rendering two views + network replication exceeds PS3 memory budget for this title

What You CAN Do

• Local split-screen (offline): 2 players in Private Match / Combat Training (bots only)
• System Link (LAN): Two PS3s + Ethernet cable / switch + two copies → 2–18 players, no PSN
• Two consoles + two PSN accounts: Play together online (party up)

Note

Official PS3 servers for WaW are shut down. Online requires Wiimmfi-style custom DNS (homebrew) or XLink Kai (LAN tunneling).
