Reinstalling Games on PlayStation 3

PS3 doesn't "reinstall" like a PC—no uninstall feature exists. Games install as a single data unit.

How to "Reinstall"

Delete Game Data

1. Go to Game Data Utility (XMB).
2. Select Game Data → choose game → Delete → confirm.
3. Save data can be deleted separately if you want to keep game files.

Re-download/Reinstall

• Disc: Insert disc, follow on-screen prompts.
• Digital: Re-download from "Purchased" list on PlayStation Store.

Important Notes

• Deleting game data removes saves—backup first if needed.
• Physical games require the disc to play again.
• Digital purchases stay tied to your PSN account for unlimited re-downloads.

PS3 manages data storage, not traditional app installation.
