How to Not Automatically Sign in to PS3

The PlayStation 3 setup allows for multiple users to create personal accounts. These accounts help keep game data, private messages, media files and personalized settings separated. The user account settings on a PS3 allow you to choose manual or automatic sign-in. With a quick adjustment to your personal settings, you can turn auto sign-in on or off. In addition to user sign-in settings, PS3 owners can choose whether to automatically sign into the PlayStation Network.

Instructions

Disabling User Auto-Login

  Sign into your user account through the "Users" tab.

  Highlight your username and press "Triangle."

  Highlight "Automatic Login" and press "X" to deselect this option. Save your settings and press "Circle" to close the settings menu.
Disabling PSN Auto-Login

  Open the "PlayStation Network" menu and select "Account Management."

  Highlight the "Sign In Automatically" box and press "X" to clear the check mark.

  Repeat this process to deselect the "Save Password" option if you wish to erase your password from the sign-in menu.

  Hit "Circle" to close the menu without signing in, or select "Sign In," to log onto the PlayStation Network. Either option will save your settings.
