How to Register a PS3 Controller

The PlayStation 3, the latest video game console from Sony, was released in 2006. A wireless controller ships by default with the PS3 console. Connecting, or registering, this wireless controller to your PS3 can be done in minutes.

Instructions

  Press the power button on the PlayStation 3 console to turn it on.

  Press and hold the button with the PlayStation symbol at the center of the PS3 wireless controller, in order to turn it on. Four red lights on top of the controller will blink, indicating that the controller is on.

  Connect the USB cable included with your PS3 into the first USB slot located at the front of the PS3 console.

  Connect the other end of the USB cable to your wireless controller, via the port located on top of the controller.

  Wait for the PS3 system to automatically register the wireless controller. A single light will illuminate above the "1" on top of the wireless controller, when the controller has been successfully registered to the console.
