Star Wars Battlefront 3 on PS2? Never Happened.

No. Star Wars: Battlefront III was cancelled in 2008 (Free Radical Design). It was in development for **PS3, Xbox 360, PC** — never PS2.

The History

• Battlefront I (2004) & II (2005) — Released on PS2, Xbox, PC, PSP.
• Battlefront III (Free Radical): 2006–2008 dev. Footage leaked 2016 (seamless space/ground, 4-player co-op campaign). Cancelled due to LucasArts financial issues / publisher switch.
• Battlefront (2015) & Battlefront II (2017) — EA/DICE. PS4, Xbox One, PC only. No PS3/PS2.

PS2 Star Wars Shooters (Alternatives)

• Battlefront II (2005) — Still playable. Servers dead; use GOG version (PC) + SWBF2 Community Patch for LAN/online via GameRanger.
• Republic Commando — Tactical squad FPS. Excellent.
• Jedi Starfighter / Starfighter — Space combat.
• The Force Unleashed (2008) — PS2 version exists (different from PS3/360).

Playing Battlefront II (2005) Today

• PC (GOG/Steam): Native widescreen, 60fps, mods (Conversion Pack, 1.3 patch), active community (Discord: "SWBF2 Community").
• PS2: LAN only (Xlink Kai / Parsec) or split-screen.
• PS4/PS5: Not backward compatible. PS2 Classics on PS3 only.

Battlefront 3 on PS2 is a myth. The cancelled game was next-gen only.
