No. Sony never manufactured a PlayStation 3 with a 140 GB hard drive from the factory.
| Model Series | Release Era | Official HDD Sizes |
|---|---|---|
| Fat (CECHA–CECHK) | 2006–2009 | 20 GB, 40 GB, 60 GB, 80 GB, 160 GB (late CECHK) |
| Slim (CECH-20xx/21xx/25xx) | 2009–2012 | 120 GB, 160 GB, 250 GB, 320 GB |
| Super Slim (CECH-30xx/40xx/42xx/43xx) | 2012–2017 | 12 GB (Flash), 250 GB, 500 GB |
Go to Settings → System Settings → System Information. It shows "Free Space" and "Total Space." If Total Space reads ~140 GB (or ~149 GiB), it's a 160 GB drive. If it reads ~111 GiB, it's a 120 GB drive.
Buying Tip: Any PS3 can accept up to 2 TB (tested community limit) 2.5" SATA drives (9.5mm height). A "140GB" listing just means a used console with an aftermarket drive — price it as a standard used unit + cost of that drive (~$15–25).
