Playing Games Without Flash Player: Modern Alternatives

Adobe Flash Player reached end-of-life Dec 31, 2020. Browsers block it. Here's how to keep playing.

Native Modern Platforms

• HTML5/WebGL games: Run directly in Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari. Major portals migrated years ago:
  • Kongregate
  • Armor Games
  • Newgrounds
  • Poki, CrazyGames
• Native desktop/mobile apps: Steam, Epic, GOG, itch.io, App Store, Play Store—zero Flash dependency.

Preserving Flash History

• Ruffle (ruffle.rs): Open-source Flash emulator (WASM). Runs in-browser or as standalone. Safe, actively maintained, supports most AS2/AS3 content.
• Flashpoint (bluemaxima.org/flashpoint): Massive curated archive (100k+ games/animations) with standalone launcher. Best for preservationists.

Critical Safety Rule

Never download "Flash Player" installers. Any site offering one is distributing malware. If a page demands Flash, the content is dead or migrated—find the HTML5 version or an alternative.
