Track your purchases of products and services. Give your email address when you do, as your contact information may be added to marketing lists. Examples include buying a house, a car, applying for a credit card or subscribing to a magazine.

Enter sweepstakes and contests by using your email as primary contact information. Sweepstakes often are methods to gain more contact information for marketing mailing lists.
