How to Get 999 Rare Candies on Pokemon Soul Silver

"Pokemon: SoulSilver Version" is the 2009 enhanced re-release of "Pokemon: Silver Version." Using the Nintendo Action Replay DSi cheat device, "SoulSilver" players can change many of the game's aspects, ranging from killing Pokemon opponents with a single attack and having an infinite amount of money to having 999 rare candies deposited into their inventory for free. While the 999 candies cheat can enhance the gaming experience for many players, the code that deposits the rare candies into their inventory does not come preloaded in Action Replay DSi. It must be entered manually.

  Plug a Nintendo Action Replay DSi into a Nintendo DS, and connect the DS to a computer via a universal serial bus (USB) port.

  Open the Notepad software program on your computer. Notepad is included with Microsoft Windows operating systems. Copy and then paste the following into a Notepad file:

  Click on the "File" menu button that is at the top of the Notepad window. A list of options will appear. Click on "Save As" in the list of options, and save the information you copied and pasted as an .xml file. You may name the file whatever you want. Save the file to your computer's desktop.

  Click on your computer's desktop, highlight the .xml file you saved and then right-click on the file. A window displaying various options will display. Click on "Copy" in the options that displayed.

  Open the Code Manager software that came with your Action Replay DSi. Right-click the column on the left side of Code Manager, and select "Paste." That will place the code in your Action Replay DSi.

  Close the Code Manager, and then disconnect Action Replay DSi from your computer.

  Click on the house logo on your Nintendo DS' screen to return to the main screen.

  Click on the green, star-shaped "Start" button on your Nintendo DS' main screen. A list of items will display.

  Scroll down the list of items to the .xml file you saved, and click on that file.

  Start your "Pokemon: SoulSilver" game. Once your press both the "L" and "R" buttons on your Nintendo DS, 999 rare candies will deposit in your inventory in the game.
