Can You Earn Influence Points (IP) vs. Bots in League of Legends?

Earning IP/Blue Essence in League of Legends

No, you cannot earn Influence Points (IP) by playing against bots in League of Legends.

How IP Rewards Work

• PvP Only: IP (now replaced by Blue Essence in modern patches) is awarded exclusively for matches against human opponents—Normal, Ranked, ARAM, and rotating game modes.
• Co-op vs. AI: Bot games grant Experience (XP) and Champion Mastery points, but zero IP/Blue Essence.

Why the Restriction Exists

Riot Games limits currency gains to PvP to prevent farming against predictable AI, which would devalue the economy and discourage competitive play.

Current Currency Note

Since the 2017 currency overhaul, Blue Essence (BE) replaced IP. The earning rules remain identical: BE comes from leveling up (capsules), mission rewards, and disenchanting champion shards—all driven by PvP play.
