Pokémon Games Compatible with Action Replay DS (Gen 4–5)

Warning: Action Replay (AR) modifies save data; risks include corruption, online bans (Pokémon Bank/Home), and unstable gameplay. Use at own risk.

Confirmed Compatible (NDS Cartridge + AR DS)

• Diamond / Pearl / Platinum (Gen 4) – Full code support: wild modifier, IV/EV, item x999, walk through walls.
• HeartGold / SoulSilver (Gen 4) – Same code engine as Platinum; most codes ported.
• Black / White (Gen 5) – Works; some codes differ due to new battle engine.
• Black 2 / White 2 (Gen 5) – Last NDS titles; AR DS supports them.

Not Compatible

• Gen 3 (Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald/FR/LG): GBA slot – AR DS cannot patch GBA ROMs in real-time. Need AR GBA.
• Gen 6+ (X/Y onward): 3DS/Switch – different hardware, encryption; AR DS useless. Use Checkpoint + PKHeX on CFW 3DS/Switch.

AR DS Models

• Action Replay DS (Original, white) – Firmware up to 1.71; needs update for B2/W2.
• Action Replay DSi / 3DS (Black, "3DS Compatible") – Works on DSi/3DS in DS mode; updated firmware.
