What Games Does ROM Nation Offer? It's a Database, Not a Download Site

ROM Nation does not host or distribute game files (ROMs/ISOs). It is an informational database and community site for retro gaming.

What ROM Nation Actually Provides

• Game Database: Detailed entries for thousands of titles across systems (NES, SNES, Genesis, N64, PS1, Game Boy, Arcade, etc.) including release dates, publishers, genres, screenshots, and user ratings.
• Reviews & Articles: Retro reviews, hardware retrospectives, "best of" lists, and collecting guides.
• Emulator Information: Lists and links to emulator projects (e.g., RetroArch, Dolphin, PCSX2, Mesen)—not the games themselves.
• Community Features: Forums, collection tracking, wishlists, and user reviews.
• Legal Homebrew/PD ROMs: Links to legally distributable homebrew games and public domain titles.

Crucial Distinction

ROM Nation does not link directly to commercial ROM downloads. It may link to archive.org or other libraries for titles confirmed as public domain/abandonware, but it avoids "gray area" distribution to remain legally compliant.

Where People Actually Get ROMs (Legally Gray / Illegal)

ROM Nation doesn't provide these, but users typically source ROMs from:

• Archive.org (Internet Archive) – massive collections, legally ambiguous for copyrighted titles.
• Dedicated ROM sites (frequently shut down / domain-hopping).
• Private trackers / Discord / Reddit communities.
• Dumping their own carts/discs (the only 100% legal method for personal backups in many jurisdictions).

Bottom Line: ROM Nation is a catalog and community, not a download site. Use it to research games, find emulator recommendations, and connect with collectors.
