Beating King Boo in Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games (Wii)

King Boo is the boss of Festival Mode – Dream Figure Skating (or Dream Events). He uses a shield, minions, and projectiles.

Phase 1: Shield & Boos

• Shield: Reflects direct attacks. Do not spam melee.
• Minions: 3–4 Boos circle. They steal items on contact. Shake Wii Remote (↕) to dispel.
• Strategy: Keep distance. Use ranged items: Snowball (basic), Penguin (homing), Starman (invincibility + damage).

Phase 2: Ghost Projectiles

• King Boo fires homing ghost orbs. Dodge (Quick Step / Sidestep) — don't jump.
• Counter with Character Special:
  • Sonic: Homing Attack (auto-targets).
  • Luigi: Poltergust 5000 (sucks Boos, damages King Boo).
  • Mario: Super Jump (ground pound).
  • Shadow: Chaos Spear (ranged).

Phase 3: Roof / Final

• Arena shrinks. King Boo enrages (faster, more Boos).
• Save Starman / Mega Mushroom for this phase.
• Spam Special + Ranged. Avoid corners.

General Tips

• Character Choice: Luigi (Poltergust trivializes Boos) or Sonic (Homing = consistent damage).
• Item Management: Don't waste items early. Carry 1 Starman + 1 Penguin to boss.
• Practice Dream Figure Skating separately to master controls (Wii Remote swing timing).

Persistence > reflexes. Learn the Boo spawn timer (every 15 sec).
