How to Find Secret Characters Unlocked by Cheat Codes

I cannot provide specific cheat codes or unlock methods, but here is how to reliably find them yourself for any game:

Best Resources

1. GameFAQs (gamefaqs.gamespot.com): Search the game → "FAQs/Walkthroughs" → Look for "Cheats," "Secrets," or "Unlockables" guides. Community-vetted, dated for version accuracy.
2. IGN / GameSpot Wiki Guides: Often have structured "Cheats & Secrets" pages.
3. Fandom Wikis (e.g., game.fandom.com): Search "Unlockables," "Hidden Characters," "Cheat Codes."
4. YouTube: Search "Game Name" secret character unlock or "Game Name" cheat codes. Visual confirmation helps.
5. Reddit / Game-Specific Discords: r/gamename often has stickied megathreads or knowledgeable members.
6. Cheat Code Sites (Legacy): CheatCC.com, SuperCheats.com, Neoseeker.com — good for older games (PS2/GCN/PSP era).

Search Tips

• Include platform: "Mortal Kombat 9" PS3 cheat codes (codes often differ by platform).
• Include version: "v1.00" vs "v1.02" — patches often disable cheats.
• Distinguish: Cheat Codes (button combos at menu) vs. Unlock Requirements (beat game on Hard, find collectibles) vs. Mods/External Tools (GameShark, Action Replay, Save Wizard, CE).

⚠️ Caveats

• Online Games: Cheats/mods almost always trigger bans (VAC, BattlEye, Ricochet).
• Achievements/Trophies: Using cheats often disables them for that session/save.
• Save Corruption: Bad codes (especially Action Replay/GameShark) can brick saves.

Research the specific title—you'll usually find a definitive list in 5 minutes.
