Spyro the Dragon (PS1): No Cheat Codes Exist

Spyro the Dragon (1998) has zero official cheat codes. No button combos, no menu, no GameShark support in retail code.

What People Mistake for Cheats

• Skill Points (Spyro 2/3): Later games added skill points for rewards. Spyro 1 has none.
• Glitches: Superfly (infinite flight), Wall clip into Gnasty's Lair early — require frame-perfect inputs, often crash.
• Debug Menu (Prototype Only): Accessible via Gameshark on beta/debug ROMs, not retail.

Legitimate 100% Guide

1. Dragons: 80 (all freed)
2. Eggs: 12 (stolen by thieves — chase them)
3. Gems: 12,000 (every chest, enemy, gem cluster)
4. Gnasty Gnorc Defeated

Best Order

Artisans → Peace Keepers → Magic Crafters → Beast Makers → Dream Weavers → Gnasty's World. Each homeworld unlocks next.

No shortcuts. The platforming purity is why it's a classic.
