Can You Use Cheat Codes in Fallout: New Vegas on PS3?

No. Console commands and traditional cheat codes are not available on any console version of Fallout: New Vegas (or any Bethesda Game Studios title). The closed architecture of PlayStation 3 prevents access to the developer console that PC players use.

What About Workarounds?

You’ll see mentions of two risky “alternatives” online:

• Mods on a jailbroken PS3: Custom firmware can enable mods that grant infinite ammo, god mode, or max stats. However, jailbreaking voids your warranty, risks permanent console damage, and can get your PSN account banned.
• Exploiting in-game glitches: Item duplication, infinite caps, or ammo exploits exist but are unreliable, often patched, and can corrupt your save file.

Better Ways to Get an Edge

Instead of risking your hardware or save, lean into the game’s deep systems:

• Invest in Science, Repair, and Lockpick skills to craft ammo, fix gear, and access hidden loot.
• Hunt for unique weapons like That Gun, All-American, or Mysterious Magnum.
• Choose perks like Jury Rigging, Hand Loader, or Pack Rat to stretch resources.
• Use companions (ED-E, Boone, Veronica) to carry extra gear and provide combat support.

The Mojave is tough, but mastering its mechanics is far more rewarding—and safer—than any cheat.
