How to Catch Mew Without Cheats or Pal Park

In mainline Pokémon games (Red/Blue through Sword/Shield), you cannot catch Mew without:

• An official Nintendo event/distribution (historically via link cable, Mystery Gift, or serial code).
• Pal Park migration from a Gen III game that received Mew legally.
• Cheats / glitches (e.g., the Gen I “Mew glitch” using the Trainer-Fly exploit).

Games Where Mew Is Obtainable Legitimately

• Pokémon GO: Special Research “A Mythical Discovery” (once per account).
• Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! / Let’s Go, Eevee!: After beating the Elite Four, visit the Poké Ball Plus accessory (bundled Mew) or transfer from GO.
• Pokémon Masters EX: Limited-time sync pair scouts/events.
• Pokémon HOME: Receive via Mystery Gift campaigns (e.g., 25th Anniversary).

For Mainline Games

Watch official Pokémon channels (Twitter, Pokémon.com, Nintendo eShop news) for rare Mythical distributions. They’re the only legitimate path—no in-game encounter exists.
