Zelda: A Link to the Past – Game Genie / Pro Action Replay Codes

There is no single “Code Breaker” cartridge for A Link to the Past. Code Breaker (and Game Genie, Pro Action Replay) were universal cheat devices you plugged into the SNES before the game cartridge. They loaded codes from an internal database or manual entry.

How to Use Cheats on Original Hardware

  1. Acquire a working Game Genie (most common) or Pro Action Replay.
  2. Insert device into SNES → insert ALttP cartridge into device.
  3. Power on → enter codes from device’s code book or online lists.
  4. Start game.

Common Codes (Game Genie Format)

  • Infinite Health: 7E0F68FF (PAR) / C26A‑4D64 (GG)
  • Infinite Magic: 7E0F6AFF
  • Infinite Rupees: 7E0F7EFF
  • All Items: 7EF300FF (sets inventory flags)
  • Walk Through Walls: 7E0AA201

Modern Alternatives

  • EverDrive / FXPAK Pro – Flash carts with built‑in cheat menus (.cht files).
  • Emulators (Snes9x, bsnes) – Cheat search / .cht support.
  • Nintendo Switch Online – Rewind feature (no traditional cheats).

Codes vary by ROM version (1.0 vs 1.1, region). Always verify against your exact cartridge.
