GTA San Andreas Cheat Codes: What's Available and How They Differ from Earlier Games

That's not quite right. San Andreas did have cheat codes, but they weren't as prevalent or as widely known as in earlier Grand Theft Auto games.

The Breakdown

• Early GTA Games (GTA 3, Vice City): Known for massive cheat code lists covering invincibility, spawning vehicles, weapons, etc.
• San Andreas Shift: Focus shifted towards unlockable content and mission completion rewards.
• Achievement-Based "Cheats": Many advantages came from reaching specific achievements or completing challenges (unlocking vehicles, clothing, abilities).
• Traditional Codes Still Existed: There were still a few actual cheat codes, but they were less common and often involved specific button combinations or phone number inputs.

So, while San Andreas didn't have the same extensive cheat code list as its predecessors, there were still ways to unlock hidden features and gain advantages through certain actions or codes.
