Is Spamming One Move Cheating in Fighting Games?

Technically no—it's a strategy, not a cheat. Fighting games have no rule against move repetition. However:

  • Sportsmanship: Relentless spam (e.g., Ryū's Hadoken full-screen) is seen as "lame" or "scrubby."
  • Exploits: If the move is a glitch/infinite (patched in updates), using it is cheating.
  • Counterplay: Good players adapt—jump, parry, armor, or punish whiffs.

Verdict: Legal but often poor etiquette. High-level play demands variety, conditioning, and adaptation. "Spam" loses to thinking opponents.
