SpotPass + Nintendogs + Cats: Not Compatible (Here's Why)

SpotPass cannot connect to Nintendogs + Cats.

Why

• SpotPass = 3DS family feature (auto-download via Nintendo servers).
• Nintendogs + Cats = Nintendo DS game (pre-3DS).
• DS uses local wireless / Nintendo WFC (shut down), not SpotPass.

Multiplayer Options (DS)

• Local Wireless: Two DS systems trade pets/photos directly.
• Nintendo WFC (Defunct): Limited online profiles/photos (no longer functional).

Nintendogs + Cats online features are largely non-functional today.
