Was Call of Duty 5 (World at War) Released on Nintendo DS or PS2? No—Here's Where It Actually Launched

No. Call of Duty: World at War (CoD5, 2008) was not released on Nintendo DS or PlayStation 2.

Platforms It Did Launch On (November 2008)

• Xbox 360
• PlayStation 3
• PC (Windows)
• Wii (distinct version by Treyarch — different campaign, controls, no co-op campaign)

What Released on DS/PS2 Instead

• Nintendo DS: Call of Duty: World at War — Modern Warfare Mobilized (2009, n-Space) — different game, top-down/third-person, touch controls.
• PlayStation 2: Call of Duty 3 (2006) was the last CoD on PS2. PS2 missed CoD4, WaW, MW2, BO1.

Why the Confusion?

• "World at War" subtitle sounds like a DS subtitle.
• CoD3 was on PS2; players assume the next one was too.
• Wii version existed (unlike PS3/360/PC, it was a separate build), so handheld version assumed.

If you want WaW on handheld, Modern Warfare Mobilized (DS) is the only option—and it's a different game.
