Where to Buy an SD Card for Nintendo DSi

The DSi uses standard SD cards (up to 2GB) or SDHC cards (4GB–32GB) with system update 1.4+. Here's where to buy:

Online Retailers

  • Amazon: Wide selection, fast shipping, reviews.
  • Best Buy / Walmart / Target / Newegg: Reliable stock, often same-day pickup.
  • eBay: Good for bulk or older 2GB cards; check seller reputation.

Physical Stores

  • Best Buy, Target, Walmart, GameStop, Micro Center, local electronics shops.

Buying Tips for DSi

  • Capacity: 2GB–8GB is plenty for DSiWare, photos, and music. 32GB max (Class 4+ speed).
  • Speed Class: Class 4 (4MB/s) minimum; Class 10/UHS-I preferred for faster loads.
  • Brand: SanDisk, Samsung, Kingston, Lexar, PNY — avoid unbranded cards.
  • Format: The DSi will prompt to format the card on first insert; this creates the required folder structure.

Note: The DSi does not use microSD cards directly (requires adapter, not recommended for reliability).
